About Me

I’m a native Wisconsinite who spent my formative years on a dairy farm. I am enthusiastic about engineering, the outdoors, and all things Linux.

I’m currently employed in the field of medical device security, and find software most compelling when it’s controlling a physical device.

My primary hobby changes every few years, but at the moment I’m learning a bit of Esperanto and am trying to refresh my high school Spanish. In prior years I’ve earned a private pilot certificate, built a 3D printer from components, and puttered with a homemade Raman spectrometer.

Some day I plan to start the ultimate project for a well rounded engineer: A home-built airplane. In the meantime, my wife will need to continue reminding me that she prefers that I not solder electronics on the kitchen table.
